Fruits Basket

Fruits Basket is amazing. Nothing I have seen so far can top it.

Okay, so I'm going to try to explain Fruits Basket in around 400 words.... This is not going to go well. Anyway, don't blame me if I spoil the entire series. It's your job to look at the title of this blog and know that basically every post will have a spoiler of some sort.

Actually to save you from too many spoilers (because I'm just that nice), I'm going to cut this post in half. The first half will be a very basic description, and the second half will be more detail. Everyone okay with this? Yeah?.... I'm talking to myself again...

Fruits Basket is an anime about a very innocent teenage girl. This girl just lost her mother to a car accident and tried to live with her grandpa. However he needed to do renovations, so she lived in a tent for a few weeks before being taken in by a family of three guys. However, these guys are more than they seem and are not normal. It's this girl's decision to accept who and what these guys are, or to run away and forget all that she knows. Her decision and what she does will take your breath away.

Fruits Basket is an anime that's really good. It starts out with a girl who lives in a tent because her mother had just died in a car crash, and her father died when she was really young. This girl goes to a middle school (or is it high school, shoot! I don't remember!), and on her way to school one day she happens across a house near where she was camping out. She was camping out because of her grandpa's renovations to the house. The house she wanders by is owned by a really rich family and the most popular guy in school lives there. At the end of the first episode she is taken in by these three guys and lives in the house with them.

This anime is all about her living with these few guys. She figures out how this family is different from everyone else early on, but she also needs to accept who they are. This family is sort of placed under a curse. In their family, there are always people that represent each of the different animals of the zodiac. These animals are the rat, dog, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon (seahorse), snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, pig, and the irregularity/outsider the cat. When hugged by someone from the opposite gender, or is under stress, the person transforms into the animal that they represent.

This anime is all about the girl and how she, with her open and caring heart, brings this family back together while having a ton of different adventures and getting to know all of them. The manga goes farther into the main character's story, and I would recommend reading it as well.

Anyway I hope you enjoyed which ever description that you read, or both, and please comment on whether or not you also like or will watch this anime! Prove me wrong that I'm not still talking to myself!

*Also, both links are websites that I used to watch and read this anime on my family's computer. So to anyone from school that might be reading, they probably won't work on the school laptops.*

Sleep Over, Where's The Sleep?

Hey, I'm back. So, for school we just had our one week long spring break that lasted from April 4-12. It was pretty fun.

The first weekend was Easter, I went shopping Monday, Aviary Tuesday, Drivers Permit Wednesday, and what I want to talk about, a great sleepover Thursday and Friday.

One of my friends hadn’t seen High School Musical yet, so a few of my friends including myself decided to hang out for a day over the break and watch it. It turned out to be pretty fun! So on Thursday, I went over to my friend Emma’s house (the one who hadn’t seen the movie) and we watched it with Jayda, another one of my friends.
All during the first movie, Jayda was singing along to the songs and we were all having a great time. We started the second movie of High School Musical after the first one ended, and it went like the first where we sang along to some of the songs and had a lot of fun. However, Jayda had to leave after we were about 3/4ths of the way through.

After Jayda left, Emma and I finished watching the second High School Musical movie. Then, since it was late, we had dinner. After that, we were debating on what to watch because I was staying over for the night. Finally, we decided on The Last Airbender. The Last Airbender was turned into a movie, but it was originally just an animation. Emma had the animation, and I hadn’t seen it, so that is what we watched. We watched these shows for around two hours. I don’t remember exactly how long we watched it.

Eventually, Emma got sick of watching these shows for the 20 millionth time in her life, so we decided to watch something else. After about 5 minutes, we agreed to watch a anime called Hetalia. Hetalia is an anime where each character is a country during World War II. Each country is hilarious with their own quirks. Anyway, we watched part of Season 3 for around 20 minutes.

Both of us not really paying much attention to the anime anymore, we decided to watch something else (again). This time, we decided on Ouran High School Host Club which is another anime. We started this anime at like 9pm, and ended it at around 11am. We stayed up the entire night watching this anime. It was really fun, but I totally regretted it Friday the day after when I fell asleep on the couch after being up for 33 hours.

When we first started to watch Ouran, Emma was worried that I would fall asleep, and wanted me to go to bed while she stayed up. After a while, it was Emma wanting to go to bed and me wanting to stay up and finish the anime. I mean, we started the anime, and after a while, it seemed possible to watch the entire thing before I had to go back home. Which is exactly what we did. We finished an entire anime during the sleepover.

Overall, this sleepover was really fun, but it wasn’t really a sleepover. It was more of a stay over for the night, but sleep is nonexistent. Comment about your own sleepovers (or stay overs) and how long you have stayed up.

Yeah... What next?

Yeah, so I'm mostly writing this blog for English, and I've run out of good ideas for Doctor Who. This has been really fun, but I kinda need more things to talk about. SO….. Since I have been stretching these posts out like A LOT, I'm gonna change it up a little, and make my blog more of just my interests.

Yeah? Any response, complaints?...... No.... Talking to myself again except for the rare friend wandering on this blog? Ok... That great!?!???

Alright, well since I’ve already done a post on an Anime that I watched with a friend, I thought I would do more posts on anime as well. That way, this blog could be more of an anime and doctor thoughts and reviews blog.

To get us started, I thought I would talk about how I started watching anime and / or Doctor Who.

For anime, I started in my 8th grade year. So, about a year ago from this post. My sister had already started watching anime, and was watching one with a friend one day when I sat down and watched an episode with them. To be honest, I thought that they were both insane at first. I mean, cartoons? Really? We are practically adults, we don’t watch cartoons anymore. However, it wasn’t just the fact that they were cartoons. It was also the content. I was pretty confused. But after that, my sister showed me another anime that she had loved for me to watch. This anime was Fruits Basket.

Fruits Basket is a very sweet anime that I would recommend as a first anime to watch to almost everyone. It is a great start to watching anime, and it teaches a few moral lessons while being hilarious to watch. The story is a little weird, but if you’re open minded, then you’ll really love this anime. I know that I loved this anime, and the only reason that I watch anime is because of 1: spare time and 2: to find an anime that could compare to Fruits Basket.
I have not succeeded in finding an anime that I love as much as Fruits Basket.

After that, my sister gave me a list of all of the anime that she had watched and is watching in the order that she watched them. Then, I started to watch a lot of those different anime as well. Even now, I am still trying to catch up with all of the anime that my sister has seen. I’m pretty close because she doesn’t have much time anymore to watch, but she did have a few years of a head start.

For Doctor Who, I don’t even know when I started watching it. This show has been on since my parents were kids, but took a pretty big break before the Doctors that are well known in this generation. I have always loved Doctor Who, but since I started watching at such a young age, I didn't really remember the earlier episodes with the ninth doctor.

So, I think I have been watching Doctor Who my entire life. Which makes since because my parents are huge sci-fi geeks (mostly my dad, my mom got introduced to Doctor Who when she married my dad) and love Doctor Who. However, I watched Doctor Who from the ninth doctor to the eleventh doctor again last year to refresh my memory.

Anyway, that is kinda when I started watching both anime and Doctor Who. My next post will probably be something on anime. If anyone reading this has objections, I’ll be glad to hear them! Just leave anything you want to say in the comments below!

Thanks for reading!
